Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that strong technical abilities, discipline, and respect for one’s craft are essential foundations for success in creative fields like fine arts, graphic design, and animation. As a dedicated college art instructor, I guide students in developing these core skills over time, equipping them to achieve their career goals and stand out in competitive industries.

In my classes, I emphasize building foundational skills through a progressive and intentional process. Students develop technical proficiency step by step, with each skill forming a solid base for the next. I encourage them to align their work with the practical demands of the jobs they aspire to attain, ensuring their learning is both meaningful and applicable. This process requires discipline, and I strive to create a structured yet flexible environment where students feel supported as they challenge themselves and grow creatively.

More than just teaching technical proficiency, I encourage students to recognize their skills as powerful tools to impact the world. By fostering a sense of service in their practice, I aim to help them see how their work can have a positive impact, whether it’s by inspiring others, addressing social issues, or enriching communities. My role as an educator is not only to prepare students for success in their careers but also to inspire a lifelong respect and responsibility for the skills they cultivate.
